    No. Some familiarity with IT is helpful, but not required. The instructor will explain the concepts in real world terms, not (just) technical terms. In fact, many of our students are Project Managers who need to gain a "management level" understanding of IT without having a technical background.

    ITIL 2011 is the most current iteration of the ITIL core publications. The ITIL books replaced ITIL v3, originallly published in 2007. For this reason, the two versions are sometimes referred to as "ITILv3:2007" and "ITIL v3:2011", respectively. The ITIL 2011 books did not introduce any NEW content, but instead improved on the existing content (more consistency across the library, better examples, additional process flows and diagrams). ITIL 2011 is the only version of the ITIL Foundations Exam that is currently available.

    The ITIL v2 certifications expired at the end of 2010, so you would need to take the ITIL 2011 Foundations exam.

    No. ITIL v3 certifications from both the 2007 and 2011 editions are functionally the same, and do not need to be updated.
